Mechanical lock
A mechanical lock is a conventional cylinder that must be picked in person. It works without electricity and cannot be opened remotely.
Lockpicking
- Stand beside the secured door and begin the lockpick challenge.
- Raise each of the five spring-loaded pins to its target height.
- Pushing a pin beyond its upper stop resets that pin, so use controlled inputs.
- Setting every pin correctly unlocks the door and completes the target when applicable.
Tactical consequences
- The interaction is physical only and remains suspicious while you work.
- The challenge can expose you for a long window, so check patrol routes first.
- A power outage does not disable or unlock a mechanical lock.
